My community seminars and digital workshops are offered to assist you to learn the basics of digital photography and by better understanding the photography principles, become more competent and creative with your image making. These Seminars are FREE and are a collaborative community event hosted by the Library and Lifetime Photography. You will be introduced to the world of digital photography, how is it different to film photography and how you can get better images from your camera

A multimedia CD giving you background information on digital photography is available for purchase at the Seminars. The CD/DVD also contains a collection of inspirational images and examples of photography creativity techniques explaining f stop, shutter speeds and depth of field and more.

You will find images showing you typical examples of

A great reference source for revision after the Seminar. This CD/DVD can be studied at home at your own pace and will provide background and questions for ongoing monthly forums.

CD/DVD may be purchased at any of my Seminars or by ordering through my studio (Cost AU $10)

Community Group Workshops - Digital Photography

These Group Workshops are currently available. They are being arranged by like minded photographers from our email network and Seminar participants. Different venues and subjects are being organised and suggestions and volunteers to lead each Group Workshop are being sought.

These Community Photography Workshops are an opportunity for you to meet similarly interested community photographers and learn new ideas and gain experience in creatitive photography as you enjoy yourself on a local outing.

Do you have other commitments on the day - or you live in another location and would like to be involved?

Everyone can be involved in our community workshops – irrespective of your global location.

I am happy to assist you in arranging similar Group Workshops in your local area. All you need is someone to take the lead and arrange a local place of interest. I will do the initial communication for you in liaison with your selected leader.

Any additional local photographers in your area can be added to my email network list to assist you in the task. This way you can benefit from our community seminars and workshops and have your images presented at the Seminar for discussion.

You also have the option of having your images, feedback and experiences included in my monthly newsletter.

About the photographer:

Let me introduce myself. My name is Norman Whyte and I have been a photographer for over 50 years with 35 years of professional experience.

During that time I became experienced in wedding, portrait, small business commercial, restoration, sporting teams, PhotoArt and special event photography.

With my wife, I owned and operated a street-front professional studio for over 30 years. For many years I was a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP) and was accredited as a Certified Professional Photographer.

I am also a member of Engineers Australia and am a Chartered professional engineer (ret) with over four decades of experience in the urban water indusrtry, government, environment and science and industry and photography training.

When I developed my website back in 1995 it was one of the first profesional photographer websites in Australia and the first in Queensland. The website was launced in 1996

Since then I have continued to develop professional skills during the recent challenging times of the evolving era of digital imaging in both the industry and the community.
